For Online Travel Shoppers, Personalized Ads are the Only Way to Fly
2013-11-13

Yahoo’s user data and personalized ad formats connect brands with quality travel audiences. See us at next week’s PhoCusWright Conference.

“More is less.” That’s the lesson learned by online travel agencies when they presented shoppers with lots of options for flights and hotels, says recent research by PhoCusWright1. Too many choices frustrated shoppers and slowed down reservations, says the study, while targeted content based on personal and behavioral data increased user satisfaction and conversion rates.

Yahoo is uniquely positioned to provide travel advertisers with the ad solutions and user data they need to reach their target travel customers. “We can embed your brand at the center of travel consumers’ daily habits by using personalized ad solutions such as Smart Ads, Stream Ads, and Yahoo Personalized Search Retargeting across our most popular sites,” said Todd Miller, Yahoo Regional VP of Sales.

Personalized ads are especially important for engaging with mobile travel shoppers, the fastest growing segment in the $136-billion online travel industry. (Mobile travel sales are forecast to double to $13.6 billion this year.) In a recent Yahoo study, over 50% of mobile travel shoppers said they prefer ads that are relevant to their interests.2

If your brand wants to connect with quality travel audiences, Yahoo is your dream destination:

• Our visitors spend $4.5 billion on travel each month---20% more than average online buyers3

• 75% to 92% of our visitors recall travel ads run on Yahoo Mail, the Yahoo homepage, and Yahoo Travel4

Personalized travel marketing is the theme of next week’s 2013 PhoCusWright Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. If you’re attending this landmark event, be sure to stop by and see us on Tuesday, Nov. 19. We’re hosting the Travel Innovation Summit Bash from 9-11 p.m. that night, so drop in, have some fun, and learn how Yahoo can put your brand at the top of travel shoppers’ itineraries.

If you can’t make the conference, as ask you Yahoo Account Representative for more information on how to reach online travel shoppers with personalized ads.
